Youth Vision Zambia is complementing government efforts in Zambia to achieve universal access to sexual and reproductive health and rights as outlined in the provisions of the Maputo Plan of Action” (MPoA).
The Maputo Plan of Action (MPoA) was approved by the African Union Conference of Ministers of Health held in Maputo in 2006. The scope of the project was focusing on the issues of SRHR among stakeholders such as Zambian Government. The project goal was to empower young people with information to enable them make informed choices regarding their SRHR and services in the three provinces.
With funding from SafAIDS Youth Vision Zambia is also developing a guide that in line with MPoA that NGOs working the SRHR field in Zambia can use in their programming. With SafAIDS support Youth Vision Zambia aims to accelerate and monitor progress towards the achievement of universal access to comprehensive SRHR as outlined in the MPoA. Youth Vision Zambia will mobilize and catalyze the government, civil society organizations to renew efforts to address universal access to sexual and reproductive health information and services as guided in the provisions of the MPoA.
