Servicing the greater good of public health and the fight against HIV/AIDS among Zambian youth

Youth Vision Zambia has established an SMS service, which is an innovative service strategy to provide young people in Zambia with interactive information, counselling and referral service in a quick, anonymous and confidential by sending the key word of YVZ to 4391 on MTN and Airtel networks. This SMS service will provide anonymous and discrete information and counseling to is users. The SMS service will also allow for interaction between the SMS user and YVZ without the face-to-face consultation that people frequently quote as a barrier to accessing the sexual reproductive health information and services.

It is operated by a team of trained counsellors and lay counsellors, and is functional will be functional for 24 hours a day and 7 days. As outlined the user to the service will send a message to the number 4391 with the message "YVZ ". Thereafter, our messaging system will provide you with information related to Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, HIV and AIDS prevention and other essential information related to your health.
